Feedback with perspective

Use AI feedback as a coach, not a verdict

Automated feedback is most useful when it helps you notice a pattern, revise a response, and test a better approach. It should support careful practice—not replace examiner scoring, teacher judgment, or your own review.

01

What AI-assisted feedback can help you notice

A feedback tool can scan for organization, clarity, vocabulary range, grammar patterns, filler words, and response relevance. It is especially helpful for finding repeated habits that are difficult to notice while you are concentrating on the task itself.

  • Repeated sentence openings or vague supporting details.
  • Grammar patterns that appear more than once.
  • Long sections that do not advance the response.
  • Speaking habits such as fillers or uneven pacing.

02

What automated feedback cannot promise

AI can misunderstand context, tone, accent, or a creative but valid response. It cannot issue a CELPIP result or predict how an examiner would evaluate a performance. Treat surprising feedback as something to investigate, not automatically accept.

03

A better feedback routine

Read the feedback once, choose one or two high-impact changes, and revise the response yourself. Then compare the revision with a model response or record a second speaking attempt. Improvement comes from the revision step, not from collecting a long list of comments.

Questions learners ask

Short, honest answers

Use these answers to shape a realistic practice plan and understand what NorthPrep can—and cannot—do.

Is NorthPrep AI feedback a CELPIP exam score?

No. It is an independent practice aid and should not be treated as an exam score or result prediction.

Which skills use AI-assisted feedback?

NorthPrep uses AI-assisted review for Writing and Speaking. Reading explanations are authored with the content rather than generated on demand.

Should I fix every suggestion?

No. Check whether each suggestion preserves your meaning and fits the task. Prioritize repeated issues and changes that improve clarity or task completion.

How do I get more value from feedback?

Revise or re-record immediately, focusing on one or two patterns. A second attempt gives you evidence that you can apply the advice independently.
