Original Speaking samples

CELPIP Speaking sample answers for all 8 tasks

These original NorthPrep practice samples illustrate strong responses to fresh CELPIP-style prompts. They are not real exam questions or official answers. Study the decisions behind each response—not sentences to memorize—then practise the same task type in your own words.

01

Study decisions, not impressive sentences

Read each prompt first and decide how you would organize it. Then compare your plan with the sample: identify the opening decision, the order of the main points, the specific supporting details, and the closing move. Those choices transfer to a new prompt; copied wording usually does not.

  • Name the job of each section of the answer.
  • Connect every example to the task purpose.
  • Notice how transitions express real relationships.
  • Retell the response in different words before moving on.

02

Why memorizing a model answer can hurt

A memorized answer may sound polished but fail to address the person, scene, choice, or problem in front of you. It also makes recovery difficult when a prompt changes. Build a small set of flexible structures—advice steps, scene routes, clue-based predictions, listener-focused reasons—and fill them with details from the actual task.

03

Fit your development to the clock

The 90-second tasks allow more development, so a strong response can support two or three points with examples. The 60-second tasks reward a quicker opening and selective detail. Task 5 also includes a separate choice stage before preparation for the persuasive response. Use the timing labels on every sample to rehearse a realistic plan.

04

Compare your recording with evidence

After practising in NorthPrep, listen to your recording before reading the model again. Check whether you completed the task, organized ideas, developed useful detail, and finished clearly. AI-assisted feedback can add observations about relevance, language, and delivery, but it is a practice aid—not an official assessment or guaranteed score.

Questions learners ask

Short, honest answers

Use these answers to shape a realistic practice plan and understand what NorthPrep can—and cannot—do.

Are these real CELPIP exam questions or official answers?

No. Every prompt and model answer on this page is original NorthPrep practice content. The samples follow the eight task types and timings but do not reproduce secure exam material, official answers, or third-party content.

Should I memorize these Speaking answers?

No. Study how each answer selects, orders, and develops ideas. Then close the sample and respond to a fresh prompt using your own details and natural language.

Does the estimated CLB label predict my exam result?

No. The label describes the standard the sample is designed to illustrate. It is not an official rating, a score for your response, or a prediction of future performance.

Why does Task 5 show an extra timing stage?

Task 5 includes time to choose between options, followed by preparation and a timed persuasive response. The sample card shows all three stages so the practice structure is clear.

Does viewing this page use AI or record my voice?

No. This is a static public study page with pre-written original samples. Recording and optional AI-assisted feedback are available only after you choose to enter NorthPrep Speaking practice.
